RYA Sailing Courses FAQs

Where are you based?

I would like to learn to sail, but have never done anything like this before. Do I need any sailing experience?

I have been sailing a while now and would like to learn more, can I go straight to RYA Day Skipper, or do I need to do a competent crew course first?

I would like to do my RYA Day Skipper Sailing course but I haven't done the sailing theory course, does that matter?

I would like to do my RYA Day Skipper Sailing course, can you teach me the sailing theory at the same time?

I am thinking about doing a Coastal Skipper Sailing Course, I have been told there is an exam at the end of the course, is this the case?

Will I have to get accommodation whilst taking part in a sailing course and what about meals.

					  Brilliant Summer Sail, Simon was an excellent Skipper and host, the boat was cleaned and an obvious large effort had been made to comply with COVID restrictions. We met new,... read more interesting people and quickly  became friends. In between the enjoyment, Simon also assessed us for our RYA Day Skipper Practical.

					  Excellent week combining a good amount of sailing with stopovers to make it a really enjoyable time. Good food aboard with some meals ashore to sample the local fare.
